Michael E. Zimmerman
Michael E. Zimmerman (born 7 July 1946) is an integral theorist whose interests include Buddhism,〔http://books.google.com/books?id=IfHWAAAAMAAJ&q=michael+e.+zimmerman+buddhism&dq=michael+e.+zimmerman+buddhism&hl=en&sa=X&ei=oUDHUr2VFs-FoQSsiIH4Cg&ved=0CEUQ6AEwBA〕 Martin Heidegger, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Ken Wilber. After a year as Assistant Professor at Denison University, he was Professor of Philosophy at Tulane University〔http://www.tulane.edu/~mcgovern/zimmerman/essays/integral_ecology/humanitys_relation_to_gaia.htm〕 from 1975 to 2005, and Director of the Institute for Humanities and the Arts at Tulane. He is also affiliated with the Integral Institute. Together with Sean Esbjörn-Hargens, he wrote a book on integral ecology, ''Integral Ecology: Uniting Multiple Perspectives on the Natural World''. Since 2006, Zimmerman has been a faculty member at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Zimmerman is a specialist on Heidegger〔http://books.google.com/books?id=0eJa3xPCThsC&printsec=frontcover〕 and has published a number of books and peer-reviewed articles on his work, and on other conventional philosophical topics.
